The Edmonton community is grieving the reported death of Sean Arceta, a dancer, registered social worker and youth mentor whose work brought together HipHop culture, creative expression and support for young people.
Known in Edmonton’s dance scene by the name “Pharush,” Arceta was closely connected to breakdancing and the local HipHop community. He was also part of iHuman Youth Society, where he worked with young people and served as Director of Community Relations.
News of his death came after friends and community members had been searching for him following reports that he was missing in Edmonton. The confirmation of his death has since brought grief to people who knew him through his professional work, dance and community involvement.
