ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — One person was killed and another was hospitalized after a pickup truck crashed into an embankment overnight in the Powdersville area of Anderson County.
The crash happened on River Road near Old Anderson Road shortly before 2 a.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
What Happened in the Anderson County Crash?
A Dodge Ram pickup truck carrying two people was traveling north on River Road when it left the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Troopers responded to the scene shortly before 2 a.m. after the crash was reported.
One of the occupants was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of that person’s injuries has not been released.
The second occupant suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Victim’s Identity Not Released
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office had not publicly identified the person who died.
